AND THE WINNER IS............(our new Rupaul)

BEBE ZAHARA BENET

28, Minneapolis, MN - A native of the West African republic of Cameroon, Bebe's exotic dignity and sophistication set her apart from the other contestants. She's neither flashy nor trashy, so she'll have to make a big impression on the judges if she's going to beat out the other queens and win the prize.
Yes.....Miss Bebe won!!!!! she was a shade queen on that show, but in my opinion she was the most royal and always a lady. What a deserving and fitting tittle for such a Queen.....CAMEROOOOOOON !!!!!
HAPPY DRAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUSH BE GONE....

The Garden State may be extra lush this summer.
New Jersey officials have proposed a ban on "Brazilian" bikini waxes, claiming the extreme grooming risky as well as risqué.
Two women were recently hospitalized for infections stemming from no-follicle-left-behind procedure, and one of them has filed a lawsuit, according to Jeff Lamm, a spokesman for New Jersey's Division of Consumer Affairs, which oversees the cosmetology board.
But New Jersey spa owners say officials have no business legislating what women do with their Pine Barrens."Our customers have never had any problems - all this is going to do is send our customers across the river to New York," said Kathleen Ho, owner of the Spa at Port Liberte in Jersey City.
Brazilians account for 85 percent of all bikini waxes, said Rita Gitelman, owner of La Femme in Hoboken."We've never had a single complaint," she said. "Our clients are extremely upset."
Technically, genital waxing has never been allowed only the face, neck, abdomen, legs and arms are permitted but because bare-it-all "Brazilians" weren't specifically banned, state regulators haven't enforced the law.
----------------------------------------------------------------
"The genital area is not part of the abdomen or legs as some might assume," Lamm said
Officials with the National Cosmetology Association and National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology said they were unaware of another state that has banned genital waxing.
Regular bikini waxes would still be allowed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hate to get involved with political things, However this one is hurting me .This (my body/my look) does not pull its self together...I need manicures, pedicures, hair salons and yes Helga the hot waxer @ my spa. its not fun to be down there every 3-6 days grooming the little errant hairs that creep back as soon as you turn your head, and long gone are the days where I'm shaving in the shower every morning...yuck ans who has the time . I'm a married woman! there is no time to be sore or for razor bumps, not for me not in 2009. So thanks New Jersey once again for making another reason why we cant keep money in this state, I guess I will be making the voyage to or sister city of New York to receive my spotless Brazilians.
Happy no-bush!!!!!!!

A promising future ended

Todd Robert Wallace aka Todd Homme, 23
Lifetime"s blush finalist found dead in his Manhattan apartment......
"This doesn't happen often and in fact may never have happened before": A finalist in a popular reality shows dies just before the finale airs. This person was also young - very young - with abundant talent, energy and drive. He is, or was, in apparent good health. In fact, the only outstanding mystery in the life of Todd Homme, 23, may be this: What ended it? Homme, a contestant in Lifetime's "Blush: The Search for the Next Great Makeup Artist," which wrapped last night (written on dec. 18), died in his sleep at his Manhattan apartment Saturday.

His mother, Marianne Amster of Huntington Station said last night, "They don't know what happened to him" while an autopsy was indeterminate. "He was at the height of life," she added. "It's very hard. Very, very hard. Born in Tucson, raised in California, Homme moved with his family to Huntington nearly three years ago. He was one of three finalists in "Blush," a "Project Runway"-like talent quest, in which the winner picks up a $100,000 check and a contract with Max Factor. The finale was taped a month ago in Los Angeles, and Homme knew he did not win (Nolan Makaawaawa, of Costa Mesa, Calif., did.)Homme's partner, Neal Krogh, 34, said both were making plans to move from New York to Los Angeles in a month."He was happy and exuberant and his usual full-of-life self and excited about the move," said Krogh, a lighting designer for TV and Broadway shows."His real passion in life was to help people," said his mother. She said he had told her that if he had won, "he said he'd give some [money] to 'my momma' and work with underprivileged kids. He loved life and he loved people. He did not have a flaw."
This news is coming from me very late, but I thought since I just found out that the rest of the world must be in the dark as well. I just watched the finally online and the lifetime just flashed his picture and name for less then thirty seconds and that saddens me ....wow, I watched the show but had so many things going on in my life that I just dvr the episodes to watch at a later date and that's why I had no clue to what happened. there are still no answers surrounding his death and no drugs or alcohol was found in his body. He will be sadly missed by fans and as well as myself....R.I.P Todd!!!!!!

CAREER OPENINGS

Though 2008 was wrought with layoffs and economic struggles, the New Year means rejuvenated hope for job seekers.
While several companies continue to make mass layoffs, other companies are shifting their focus to hire aggressively in the beginning of 2009.
"This is a difficult economy, no doubt," says Andrea Hough, vice president of talent acquisition for ServiceMaster, a lawn care and landscape maintenance company. "However, I would caution job seekers to be thoughtful about whom they are going to work for and not act out of desperation. There are some very strong companies with solid ethics in need of employees eager to be a part of a thriving organization."
If you're looking for work in the New Year, here are a variety of such strong companies in various industries, which are looking to hire a diverse selection of jobs in 2009, despite the tough economy:

1. Company: 7-Eleven
Who they are: A leader in convenience retailing, with approximately 7,600 7-Eleven stores in North America [and] more than 35,000 stores in 17 countries, according to Jim Wahl, the company's manager of talent acquisition systems.
Whom they are looking for: "At 7-Eleven, we believe your work should be more than a job. It should be an investment in your future and ours," Wahl says. "In 2009 we will be seeking candidates for operations, accounting, information systems, merchandising and marketing."

2. Company: Banfield
Who they are: Banfield is the largest pet general veterinary practice in the world, says Mike Mason, senior director of team resources. It offers a full range of comprehensive medical services and a quality assurance program.
Whom they are looking for: "Banfield seeks associates who love pets and who share in our mission of treating pets like family and increasing the value of pets in families and communities," Mason says.
"Our plan for 2009 calls for replacing new positions as they become open in our main campus in Portland, Oregon, and in our hospitals, as well as hiring quality associates to staff our new hospitals. To staff our hospitals, we are looking for veterinarians, PetNurses, office managers and client service coordinators."

3. Company: Farmers Insurance
Who they are: Farmers Insurance is the nation's third-largest personal lines property and casualty insurance group, according to Andy Reser, vice president of agencies. It provides homeowners, auto, business, specialty products, life insurance and financial services to more than 10 million households.
Whom they are looking for: "We offer the opportunity to build your own business. You'll have the latitude to set your own professional goals and income potential," says Luisa Acosta-Franco, assistant vice president of diversity and emerging markets. "Farmers has a strong commitment to diverse markets, therefore the need for qualified bilingual individuals is an important component of the overall strategy to attract and retain the right people for opportunities with us."

4. Company: Gentiva Health Services
Who they are: Gentiva offers a range of highly skilled in-home care services, including nursing, therapy, infusion, pharmacy, respiratory, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, senior health, neurorehabilitation and hospice, says Angela McClure, assistant vice president of recruitment and staffing.
Whom they are looking for: "We have career opportunities for dedicated, compassionate nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other clinicians; as well as sales, management and administrative support professionals," McClure says. "At Gentiva, our clinicians have a lot of flexibility and autonomy, so they must demonstrate a high level of clinical excellence and customer service."

We are looking for candidates with long-term vision who enjoy working in a strong team environment," Kotecki says. "We will be looking to fill a wide spectrum of positions in 2009, which are both demanding and rewarding. Our primary focus will be on candidates with a strong engineering background or those with prior military experience."

7. Company: M.A.R.S. International
Who they are: A franchise that offers mobile cosmetic repair and reconditioning services to industries including hotels, motorcycles, boats, automobiles, RV's and more. GET AND GIVE.....FOR A CAUSE!

From March 12-15 if you used this coupon code D2DRDDKJGBNW at GAP, Banana Republic or Old Navy you could have got 30 % off your purchase in store only. The unique thing about this sale is that 5% of the money you spent was donated to the non-profit of your choice (picked from a designated list of charities). So anyway. The more you spend the more money that goes to help organizations that need it.
Now I never knew about this sale, however for a good reason it was once named the friends and family sale, and was renamed this year to give back. My cousin and wife was out in Atlantic city, while I stayed home out of the rain to rest and not get my newly blown hair wet. " They say as they were leaving the Ralph Lauren store a lady just approached with this paper with the detail facts above and so they went and shopped all for a good cause. Ironically on this paper that the lady had passed on to them because someone had passed it to her, and they had brought back home for me to read already had the charity picked out and it was for a cure for cancer organization...I like to think of that as my late Aunt K at just saying hello. So I think we can all give a little in our everyday world and and I hope this story has inspired someone to just know that life is not so bad and either are the people in it!
Happy giving !!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE YOUR TOOTSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK LADIES .....SUMMER IS APPROACHING AND WHILE I KNOW SOME OF YOU ALL, JUST OPT FOR CLOSE TOE SHOES OR PEEP TOE PUMPS, NOT ONLY DOES A BUNION PROTRUDING OUT OF YOUR SHOE DOES NOT LOOK GOOD...I'M MORE CONCERNED WITH YOUR HEALTH. TO MANY YOUNG WOMEN ARE HAVING FOOT PROBLEMS AND CONTRARY TO OLDER WOMEN BELIEFS THAT IT THE "HIGH HEEL, ROACH KILLER" SHOES WE WEAR, I THINK IT STEMS FROM THE DWINDLING ECONOMY WOMEN WORKING HARD ALL THE TIME, HAVING NO MONEY FOR A CAR (PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION) WALKING TO AND FROM...EVERYWHERE A ND TRYING TO BE FASHIONABLE WHILE DOING IT CAN HAVE ITS AFFECTS ON THE DELICATE BONES IN OUR FEET. SO HERE'S SOME INFORMATION ON BUNION SURGERY......
surgery generally involves an incision in the top or side of the big toe joint and the removal or realignment of soft tissue and bone to relieve pain and restore normal alignment to the joint. If the joint is severely deformed, it may be stabilized with tiny wires, stitches, screws, or plates. There are no guarantees that a bunion surgery will fully relieve your pain.
A regional anesthetic that affects only the foot is commonly used for bunion surgery. A sedative may also be used during the procedure.
The procedure usually takes an hour or more, depending on the type of surgery.
Bunion repairs are usually done on an outpatient basis.
There are over 100 surgeries for bunions. Research does not indicate which type of surgery is best-surgery needs to be specific to your condition. More than one procedure may be done at the same time.
The general types of bunion surgery are:
Removal of part of the metatarsal head (the part of the foot that is bulging out). This procedure is called exostectomy or bunionectomy.
Realignment of the soft tissues (ligaments) around the big toe joint.
Removal of a small wedge of bone from the foot (metatarsal osteotomy) or from the toe (phalangeal osteotomy).
Removal of bone
from the end of the first metatarsal bone, which joins with the base of the big toe (metatarsophalangeal joint). At the metatarsophalangeal joint, both the big toe and metatarsal bones are reshaped (resection arthroplasty).
Fusion (arthrodesis) of the big toe joint.
Fusion of the joint where the metatarsal bone joins the mid-foot (Lapidus procedure).
Implant insertion of all or part of an artificial joint.
What To Expect After Surgery

The usual recovery period after bunion surgery is 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on the amount of soft tissue and bone affected. Complete healing may take as long as 1 year.
When you are showering or bathing, the foot must be kept covered to keep the stitches dry.
Stitches are removed after 7 to 21 days.
Pins that stick out of the foot are usually removed in 3 to 4 weeks, but in some cases are left in place for up to 6 weeks.
Walking casts, splints, special shoes, or wooden shoes are sometimes used. Regular shoes can sometimes be worn in about 4 to 5 weeks, but most procedures require wearing special shoes up to 8 to 12 weeks after surgery. Many activities can be resumed in about 6 to 8 weeks.
After some procedures, no weight can be put on the foot for 6 to 8 weeks. Then there are a few more weeks of partial weight-bearing with the foot in a special shoe or boot to keep the bones and soft tissues steady as they heal.
I HOPE THAT HELPED LADIES.....
HAPPY HEALTHY TOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DANCE ON NASTY GIRL.....

Only in America can an ex-con go on a reality television program and dedicate a cha cha cha set to Janet Jackson’s “Nasty Girls” to the ladies she left behind in a Federal Detention Center.
Lil’ Kim’s March 9 shoutout to her former fellow inmates raised a question: Is it possible for inmates to vote for “Dancing With the Stars,” but not for the president?
“The inmates cannot dial toll-free numbers,” said the public information officer at the Philadelphia facility where Kim served out 10 months of her prison sentence for conspiracy and perjury. No toll-free numbers means the inmates cannot vote via phone.
And voting via the ABC Web site isn’t an option either. “The computers aren’t connected to live modems. They can send e-mails to approved recipients, but it has to be screened first,” said the officer.
The officer confirmed that the prison televisions, at least in the Philadelphia facility, do show network programming. “They can watch a major network show. Recreation provides a schedule.”
Unless Kim’s incarcerated fan base can rally friends and family to vote by proxy, it seems that, just like in the general election, there’s no way for their votes to count.

However all I know is that her body looks amazing and her dancing wasnt half bad either, Im just glad to see her do something positive with her life. I still love kim and wish her all the luck in her future careers, eventhough they say that dancing with the stars is for "has beens" (sorry Kim) I say kudos Kim...keep dancing.

happy dancing,,,,,,,,

SPRING AHEAD......

The groundhog may have seen his shadow but spring is right around the corner.

Freshen up your wardrobe this season with some of these spring 2009 fashion trends.

Something nude;

As much as bright pops of color are a huge trend this season, so is the lack of color, as in nude tones that is. Paired with a bright piece or worn from head-to-toe, incorporating neutral colors into your wardrobe is a must this season.

Hot pink;

Channel your inner girly girl and bust out in something hot pink this spring. The super feminine, bold and bright color will bolster your mood, your confidence and is a definite head-turner.

Jumpsuits;

It may seem a little Jetsons to you, but the jumpsuit is back - and in a big way! Whether long or short, jumpsuits were a major trend on the spring runways this season. And when you can choose from short-sleeved, sleeveless, dressy or casual, there should be one to suit just about anyone.

happy spring fashions!!!!!!

AT(TENT)ION NEEDED !!!!!

In hard times, tent cities rise across the country
Since foreclosure mess, homeless advocates report rise in encampments

Homeless encampments are springing up around the country, including this one next to the homeless shelter in downtown Reno, Nev.
COURTESY OF MSNBC:
RENO, Nev. - A few tents cropped up hard by the railroad tracks, pitched by men left with nowhere to go once the emergency winter shelter closed for the summer.
Then others appeared — people who had lost their jobs to the ailing economy, or newcomers who had moved to Reno for work and discovered no one was hiring.
Within weeks, more than 150 people were living in tents big and small, barely a foot apart in a patch of dirt slated to be a parking lot for a campus of shelters Reno is building for its homeless population. Like many other cities, Reno has found itself with a "tent city" — an encampment of people who had nowhere else to go.

From Seattle to Athens, Ga., homeless advocacy groups and city agencies are reporting the most visible rise in homeless encampments in a generation.
Nearly 61 percent of local and state homeless coalitions say they've experienced a rise in homelessness since the foreclosure crisis began in 2007, according to a report by the National Coalition for the Homeless. The group says the problem has worsened since the report's release in April, with foreclosures mounting, gas and food prices rising and the job market tightening.
"It's clear that poverty and homelessness have increased," said Michael Stoops, acting executive director of the coalition. "The economy is in chaos, we're in an unofficial recession and Americans are worried, from the homeless to the middle class, about their future."
Caught by surprise The phenomenon of encampments has caught advocacy groups somewhat by surprise, largely because of how quickly they have sprung up.
"What you're seeing is encampments that I haven't seen since the 80s," said Paul Boden, executive director of the Western Regional Advocacy Project, an umbrella group for homeless advocacy organizations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Calif., Portland, Ore. and Seattle.
The relatively tony city of Santa Barbara has given over a parking lot to people who sleep in cars and vans.
The city of Fresno, Calif., is trying to manage several proliferating tent cities, including an encampment where people have made shelters out of scrap wood.
In Portland, Ore., and Seattle, homeless advocacy groups have paired with nonprofits or faith-based groups to manage tent cities as outdoor shelters.
Other cities where tent cities have either appeared or expanded include include Chattanooga, Tenn., San Diego, and Columbus, Ohio.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently reported a 12 percent drop in homelessness nationally in two years, from about 754,000 in January 2005 to 666,000 ( THE DEVILS NUMBER) in January 2007. But the 2007 numbers omitted people who previously had been considered homeless — such as those staying with relatives or friends or living in campgrounds or motel rooms for more than a week.
In addition, the housing and economic crisis began soon after HUD's most recent data was compiled.
"The data predates the housing crisis," said Brian Sullivan, a spokesman for HUD. "From the headlines, it might appear that the report is about yesterday. How is the housing situation affecting homelessness? That's a great question. We're still trying to get to that."
In Seattle, which is experiencing a building boom and an influx of affluent professionals in neighborhoods the working class once owned, homeless encampments have been springing up — in remote places to avoid police sweeps.
PRAYER IS NECESSARY FOR THESE PEOPLE AS WELL AS OURSELVES.

Not only has she won major music awards, and had hit after hit, but she was voted one of Maxim's Hot 100 Women of 2006. Her single, Big Girls Don't Cry was her first worldwide #1 single. She's been both a girl scout and an out-of-control teenager admitting to a life of drugs, risky behaviour and dealings with gang members". “When you're young,” she says, “your hormones can rage out of control.” Her message to young people is responsible behavior. “Believe me,” she says, “ I Practice what I preach.”

Well, I support mac viva glam products and have been since Rupaul's campaign, so I will be going out to purchase my Fergie lipstick. However, I cant wait for Onginia's campaign (for those of you who watch Rupauls drag race)....God bless all of those who struggle with this horrible disease and I like to Think of this as my way of supporting them, so get out there and viva glam it up for a great cause.
HAPPY VIVA GLAM W/ A HEART!!!!!!

LATISSE™ solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker.
Hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.
Important Safety Information
Do not use LATISSE™ solution if you are allergic to one of its ingredients.
LATISSE™ solution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. DO NOT APPLY to the lower eyelid. If you have a history of abnormal IOP, you should only use LATISSE™ under the close supervision of your physician.
LATISSE™ use may cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible. Although not reported in clinical studies, LATISSE™ use may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent.
You should tell your physician you are using LATISSE™ especially if you have a history of eye pressure problems. You should also tell anyone conducting an eye pressure screening that you are using LATISSE™.
The most common side effects after using LATISSE™ solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. LATISSE™ solution may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where LATISSE™ is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.

DARE TO WEAR.....

Cristobal Balenciaga started his couture house back in 1918, influencing the next century of fashion with his dramatic, sculptural silhouettes. The line, dormant for nearly 30 years, stepped into the ready-to-wear arena in the nineties, reproducing classic looks for a minimalism-obsessed fashion world. Today the brand’s as hot as ever, thanks to the futuristic avant-gardism of creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. Under his influence, the fashion house has become a bellwether in the industry, influencing trends at all levels of the market. Shining moments have included the inimitably sought-after robot leggings, the reinterpreted ikat print, the new jodhpur, equestrian helmets, outrageous experimentation with volume and proportion, a recurring fascination with science-fiction shapes and techno-fabrics, and a modern reworking of classic prints. Shoes—whether vertiginous wedges or knee-high gladiatorial flats—are highly coveted and often bondage-y tough. In addition to revitalizing the namesake collection, Ghesquière has overseen the creation of the Edition line, featuring reissued couture classics, and the Capsule collection of less-expensive runway-inspired pieces, which make up the bulk of the business.
THIS label is my new best friend no this fabulous "architecture meets fashion booties" is not what i purchased and not at $7795 anyway. My first purchase is just a bag. i love how their shoes are so over the top and the purses are understated and utility like (so not dainty) at all....but i love it, just as it is black, leather and simple.
HAPPY BALENCIAGA PURCHASING....
