BABY WIPE ME!!!!!

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes

Here's How:
Cut the roll of paper towels in half with a knife and remove the inner cardboard core.
Mix liquid ingredients in container.
Place the paper towels in the container with the cut side facing downward.
Secure lid tightly and allow to sit until all liquid is absorbed into the paper towels.
Turn the container upside-down and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
Open container and 'start' the roll by pulling a towel from the inside of the roll.
Wipes are now ready to use.

Tips:
These also make a great gift for new parents. You can decorate or personalize the container and, of course, be sure to include a copy of the recipe.
Save the other half of the roll for use next time you make wipes.
Make sure the container is closed tightly after each use to prevent drying out.
When your baby is older and his skin is less sensitive, you can add about a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol to the mix.

What You Need:
Round plastic container (Rubbermaid #6 or #9 works well)
Thick, strong roll of white paper towels
Sharp knife to cut paper towel roll in half
2 cups water that has been boiled and cooled to room temperature

April 15th, 2009 Deadline
The tax deadline is HERE and I’m sure many of you who were scheduled to receive a refund have already filed and even cashed your refund check. But for those of you that owe money this year, the looming deadline isn’t going away. So if the tax filing deadline is April15th what does that really mean for filing and submitting your return and/or payment?

The Postmark Date
The good news is that a tax return delivered to the IRS by U.S. mail after the due date for the tax return is considered timely filed if the tax return was postmarked on or before the due date of the tax return. This is good news because that means you don’t have to submit your filing and payment a week in advance just to be sure it is in their hands by the deadline. So if you want, you can actually wait until the 15th to get everything in the mail provided the postmark on the envelope shows the 15th. While you can wait until the very last day to do so, I would recommend still mailing a day or two early just to be safe in the event of something coming up that doesn’t permit you to get to the post office or meet the last postal pickup for that day in order to get that day’s postmark.

What About Extensions?
If you filed an extension, you are not off the hook. This extension is simply for filing the paperwork, not the tax payments you owe. If you have waited this long and still don’t know roughly how much you will owe I urge you to find out as soon as possible. You will still need to have your payment, or at least an estimated payment postmarked by the 15th in order to be considered as on time even if you have filed an extension or plan to file one.
The extension will at least prevent you from receiving a late filing penalty on your paperwork but interest will be charged on unpaid tax from the original due date of the tax return. So it is important to send at least an estimated payment before the deadline even if you have filed for an extension so you can avoid as much interest as possible.
In addition to interest, there is an issue with late payment penalties as well. This means it is very important to know fairly close to how much your payment will be. The IRS will not impose a late payment penalty so long as the estimated payment you send is at least 90% of the actual payment you owe and that the remainder of the payment is submitted before the end of the extension deadline. So, if you expect your tax payment to be around $1,000 don’t send them a check for $200 as an estimated payment while you continue to work on your return in the extension period.

Showtime has decided to pass on two anticipated series: End of Steve, starring Matthew Perry as a local afternoon talk show host, and The Farm, Ilene Chaiken's L Word spin-off that would follow Alice (Leisha Hailey) into a state prison. I'm miffed about End of Steve because to me, "dark comedy" + "Matthew Perry" = "delight." But I'm not too hung up on the no-go for The Farm -- Alice's relationship with Tasha sort of beat the "Alice in prison" idea to death already. (It eventually got better! But still.) And I'd rather wait for a brilliant new series about lesbians than another one from the same showrunners responsible for making The L Word so laughably bad a lot of the time. While the Web media didn't miss a beat on Facebook matching MySpace in terms of unique traffic last week, MySpace was touting its own achievement - namely, "significant spikes in time spent and page views," according to January Comscore numbers. These user engagement metrics include all time highs in the "minutes per visitor" and "total minutes" categories. Page views also jumped to the highest level the company has recorded in more than one year. Those are important metrics and should not be ignored.The average MySpace user spends 266 minutes (4.4 hours) on the site every month—a +15% increase over last month and a +31% increase year over year. January is the highest level of minutes-per-visitor MySpace has ever seen. Page views on MySpace have reached an all time high of 44 billion—more than double that of the company’s nearest competitor. However in my opinion I have to say I love Facebook a little more, but to me they are two aiming at totally different markets.

I have a love affair with most Burt's Bees products and Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner is one of them. I first came across this little astringent gem in my Burt's Bees sample kit and went through it pretty quickly. I still have a large bottle of toner from another manufacturer that I plan on finishing up before I purchase another bottle of the Burt's Bees toner, but once I finish with that I'm going to use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner exclusively.

About Burt's Bees Burt's Bees is a small company that makes natural products and doesn't do animal testing. The company originated in Maine where Burt began selling products based on the honey and wax produced by his hives of bees. He later moved down to North Carolina, expanded, and now Burt's Bees sells a full line of skin care products.

Burt's Bees claims that this toner removes residues from soaps, cleansers and dead skin cells and that it restores the natural pH balance to your skin. The tomato, cucumber and parsley extracts clean and tighten your pores. Burt's Bees sells this product in a very attractive frosted glass bottle. It retails for $10 for 8 ounces. Using the Toner I love the scents of most Burt's Bees products and so I wasn't surprised to be intrigued and pleased by the scent of their Garden Tomato toner. It has a scent unlike any other toner that I have used, at once sweet and still pungent like all other astringents. It doesn't smell like any tomatoes that I know of, but its fragrance is definitely pleasant. Like other toners and facial astringents, this product is alcohol-thin and light.

To use it, simply douse a large cotton ball or cotton pad and run it over your face, taking care to avoid your eye area. How Well It Works When I use this toner the cotton ball picks up dirt and other residue that's left on my face even after I wash. The toner feels mild and it doesn't tingle harshly like some other toners that I have used. I like this, because I don't like feeling that I'm tearing up my skin just to clean it. My skin is left feeling taut and my pores tightened after use. The lingering scent lightens considerably after a few minutes.

I really like using this toner. I have never actually liked a toner product so much that I've switched to using just one brand or kind, but I will be switching to this Burt's Bees Garden Tomato toner as soon as I run through my current batch of toner. I like this toner because it doesn't irritate my skin, it gets the job done, it comes in a beautiful frosted glass jar and it smells wonderful. I can highly recommend Burt's Bees Garden Tomato toner to anyone looking for a mild yet effective toner to use as a part of their daily skin care regiment.
