Etymology:
The word Christmas originated as a compound meaning "Christ's Mass". It is derived from the Middle English Christemasse and Old English Cristes mæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038.[3] "Cristes" is from Greek Christos and "mæsse" is from Latin missa. In Greek, the letter Χ (chi), is the first letter of Christ, and it, or the similar Roman letter X, has been used as an abbreviation for Christ since the mid-16th century.[8] Hence, Xmas is often used as an abbreviation for Christmas
SO AS YOU GO AND GET READY TO CELEBRATE THIS JOYOUS HOLIDAY, JUST REMEMBER THAT "JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON" I HAVE LOST SO MANY CLOSE PEOPLE TO ME THIS YEAR AND YES EVEN ON CHRISTMAS ....THAT WAIT TO SEE WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR ME, HE HAS NOT FAILED ME SO FAR AND ALTHOUGH THIS YEAR I FELT LIKE I COULD HAVE COLLAPSED AT ANY SECOND FROM THE BACK TO BACK TRAGEDIES.....I DIDN'T, I SURVIVED AND SO CAN YOU "GOD GIVES US NOTHING WE CAN NOT HANDLE"
SO TAKE THIS BIT OF ADVICE AND GO INTO 2009 NOT BITTER, COLD, AND SPITEFUL BUT WITH LOVE, RESPECT AND PATIENCE FOR ALL. 2008 HAS NOT BEEN EASY FOR ANYONE BUT WE CAN COME INTO 2009 WISER AND STRONGER AND WITH PERSEVERANCE WE WILL ALL MAKE IT TO 2010 WITH LOVE IN OUR HEARTS.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU HAPPY THROUGHOUT THE NEW YEAR!
