When Your Partner Cheats: Healing From Infidelity or Not!

Few events cause as much turmoil in a marriage as infidelity, which can reduce a marriage to rubble, shattering trust and creating a breeding ground for insecurity, mistrust and resentment.
Reliable statistics on the frequency of marital infidelity are hard to come by because affairs can't be objectively measured like divorce and marriage. Furthermore, researchers say there is only a few people that admit this act has happened to them.

One often-cited expert, Peggy Vaughan, author of The Monogamy Myth,(One of my healing books) estimates that 60 percent of husbands/spouses and 40 percent of wives will have an affair at some point in their marriage; however, less than 10 percent of people who have affairs divorce and marry their lovers.

Infidelity Is Not a Death Sentence, As painful and devastating as infidelity is, I think it is a wound that can be healed — slowly and maybe with an ass whooping. Couples who are coping with an affair: Infidelity is a sometimes treatable crisis. Sound like a monumental task? It is, It takes strength to trust the betrayed and betrayer can heal from infidelity just as slow as the relationship started, but because of my past relationship (with a chronic flirt and "alleged" cheat that never admitted cheating) I don't advocate staying together. I think it matters on how it was done, Was I disrespected in their act? Where the act took place?, How many times has the act occurred?, and Can I trust that this act wont happen again?....However, People are different and in my current marriage, I would probably give it another go based on those questions and could I live with the fact that, I took her back; No matter how bleak and dark things are at that moment I know it would be different. virtually marriages can be brought back form the brink of splitting up, with cooperation from both parties. First and foremost, there is no "quick fix" to repair the damage caused by unfaithfulness. The process takes time — often years — and you need a great deal of patience to handle the disappointment and disillusionment along the way. "Be prepared for many 'back to square ones,'"and setbacks will diminish over time.

What the Unfaithful Party Needs to Do:
Be brutally honest about the affair. The unfaithful has to be able to talk about the affair as often and in as much depth and detail as the partner desires. We as Women in particular, need to know why it happened. We feel that unless we uncover the root (cause of the affair), it could happen again. The truth also facilitates healing by short-circuiting the imagination. What the betrayed imagines took place is usually much worse than what actually imagined and at times visa verse. If talking about the affair is intensely uncomfortable, you may want to work with a family therapist or marriage counselor to get past initial minefields but definitely not family from either sides because they will always be for their family at the end of the day, and be prepared for a change in your mates behavior they may not be able to go back to the way things were that easily.

What the Couple Needs to Do:
Talk things out about the future needs and wants, be patient with each other as you both heal, and be prepared that getting back together may not be the best plan for your individual futures.

Tip #1: Play Safe
There are some serious safety issues regarding anal sex that you need to be aware of at all times. First and foremost, whatever touches the anus shouldn't be touching anything else. Never never never take the penis out of the anus and put it into the vagina. That can lead to serious infections and other complications. After any kind of anal play, you should immediately change condoms and wash the relevant body parts thoroughly.
Of course, STDs are also a major concern with anal sex. This isn't just limited to AIDS; herpes, genital warts, syphilis, gonorrhea, etc. can all be transmitted through anal sex. You shouldn't be having anal sex without a condom; it's not worth the risk to either partner.

Tip #2: Lube, lube, lube
One of the most important thing to remember when thinking about anal sex is that, unlike the vagina, the anus isn't self-lubricating: you gotta bring your own grease. And, the more lube you use, the better. It will make the initial penetration much more easy and less painful for the woman and make the whole experience, for both of you, much more pleasant. The most common suggestion we get from our readers is to use LOTS of lube; we just can't emphasize this point enough.
All kinds of lube are used for anal sex, from spit to Vaseline to high-tech silicone-based lubes. We'd strongly recommend spending a little money to get a high quality water-based lubricant; remember, an oil-based lubricant like Vaseline will degrade the latex in a condom, destroying its usefulness. We'd recommend products like *AstroGlide or KY Jelly, available in any drug store. Note, though a condom may be "lubricated", they typically don't offer as much lube as we'd recommend for anal sex.
Sex Toys
There are some specialty lubes designed for anal sex that include an anesthetic to numb the woman's sensation and make anal sex less painful. We'd advise against these products. The simple fact is, pain is a way of your body telling you that something's wrong. If you're in pain during anal sex, you need to focus on solving the root problems, not anesthetizing yourself so it's easier to endure.

Tip #3: Start Small
Simply put, a penis is an awful big to be the first thing you stick up someone's butt . Better to start with something smaller and work your way up. Fingers are an excellent beginning point. Use one finger, then two, to initiate your partner into the mysteries of anal penetration. Try it while performing oral sex for an extra thrill. Be sure your fingernails are trimmed, not to forget the lube, and you might even want to wear latex gloves.
As your partner gets used to your fingers, you might graduate to a butt plug or a small dildo. Dildos are available in all shapes and sizes. Go shopping together to get one she thinks she can handle. Remember, though, don't put the dildo into the vagina after putting it into the anus. The safest way is to put a condom on the dildo before using it, and to wash it thoroughly immediately after.

Tip #4: Turnabout is Fair Play
Whether you're trying to convince someone to have anal sex or trying to figure out how to do it in a gentle, pain free manner, there's no better preparation that exploring anal play with yourself.
A partner is much more likely to consent to anal sex if she's seen that you're open to being on the receiving end as well. Encourage her to use her fingers inside of you, or even purchase a butt plug or small dildo and let her use that. Once she's seen you're willing to do it, it'll be hard for her to resist exploring it as well.
Of course, anal play on yourself is a great way to learn how anal sex feels and to learn how to make it more comfortable for your partner. You might also be surprised just how much you like it...

Tip #5: Clear the Way
Before having anal sex, the woman should have a good, complete bowel movement. If she doesn't, the man may find himself encountering far more fecal matter than he might have liked (i.e. packing the fudge). Now, for some people doing this on-command might not be the easiest thing, and straining to defecate is not healthy. A high fiber diet may help things along and is good for your health in any case.
Of course, if you really want to clean things out in a hurry, you can purchase an enema from any drug store. There's some controversy about this; some people feel having an enema first can actually increase the irritation during anal sex. If you're going to go the enema route, we'd recommend doing it several hours before you plan to have anal sex, rather than right before the act.

WEAVE's History
Women Empowered Against Violence, Inc. (WEAVE) was founded by American University law school students to provide holistic services to domestic violence victims in the District of Columbia. Having previously worked with domestic violence victims from a social work perspective, WEAVE's founders became interested in law to fill a gap in the services available to battered women. While they were student attorneys in the domestic violence clinic, the founders represented clients in civil protection order proceedings. They quickly learned that their clients needed more than temporary protection orders. Their clients needed long term legal representation for divorce and custody, as well as social service intervention for counseling, housing, and public assistance.
In 1996, WEAVE's founders conducted a community needs assessment of domestic violence victims in Washington, D.C. which confirmed their suspicions. The survey results revealed that many women were not receiving the wide range of legal services that they needed to achieve self-sufficiency and freedom from their abusers. Four specific gaps were identified: (1) no domestic violence legal services for the working poor who earn a salary above the poverty line; (2) a lack of support services that are targeted to non-immigrant domestic violence victims; (3) insufficient legal services for domestic violence victims who need long-term representation in divorce, custody, visitation, and other legal proceedings; and (4) an absence of counseling and social services specifically geared toward domestic violence victims.

Drawing upon the community needs assessment and their own experiences working with shelters and social work organizations, the founders created WEAVE, a non-profit that provides holistic services to victims of domestic violence. WEAVE officially opened its doors on September 22, 1997. WEAVE grew at first as a legal service provider, adding full time case management and counseling programs in 1999 to achieve the founders' vision of providing holistic services.

In addition to diverse legal needs victims also face numerous economic barriers, such as securing public benefits, receiving employment training, entering or returning to the workforce, and finding adequate and affordable child care and housing. Moreover, victims are in crisis and need emotional support in the form of individual and group counseling. In order for victims to free themselves of the violence safely, all of the above obstacles must be addressed concurrently.

The holistic services model combines legal representation with counseling and social services so that clients can concurrently address their legal, emotional, and economic needs. Employing this holistic program ensures services are readily accessible and coordinated between attorneys, licensed clinical social workers, and mental health professionals. Through the holistic services model, WEAVE provides clients with the full range of tools necessary to achieve safety and self-sufficiency.

EmpowermentThe empowerment model emphasizes respect for clients. Clients must decide what course of action is best for them and be highly involved in their cases. This ownership is an essential part of empowering victims of domestic violence and providing them with a sense of control over their lives.
Although the holistic services and empowerment models are more time-consuming and labor intensive for both client and staff, WEAVE is committed to giving women tools to break the cycle of violence. The holistic services and empowerment models are also the first step toward self-sufficiency for many victims of domestic violence who have been emotionally, and often financially, dependent on their abusers.
Services Without Income RestrictionsMany legal service providers impose income restrictions on their clients. This leaves very few resources for women who earn a salary above the poverty line, but do not have the resources to retain a market-rate attorney. WEAVE utilizes a modest sliding scale for clients with incomes above the poverty line, and will help battered women, regardless of their income level.

Characteristics indicative of obsessive love are:
Obsessive lovers believe that only the person they fixate on can make them feel happy and fulfilled.
Persons close to the love-obsessed can also be greatly affected. Witnessing a friend or family member suffer from the disorder can be distressing.
The person obsessed cannot accept the other person to be happy when they are suffering.

Synopsis - Obsessed features a loving family who move into their new house and begin to live the American dream. Derek and his wife Sharon are a loving, committed couple who have a very honest marriage. At Derek’s office, a temporary secretary, Lisa, begins to make sexual advances. Although Derek rejects every advance, he doesn’t tell his wife about it.



Lisa, the temp, is emotionally disturbed. She believes that Derek is hers and will do whatever she can to steal Derek away. With every rejection, Lisa doubles her efforts, continuing to put Derek in situations making it harder and harder to resist her advances.



Meanwhile, wife Sharon begins to suspect something is wrong, and for the first time, doubts her husband’s faithfulness. As the stakes rise, Sharon confronts Lisa and it turns into a physical fighting match over Derek. Sharon becomes the movie’s heroine as her commitment to not consider divorce strengthens her resolve to make the marriage work.



Obsessed is a well made, thrilling drama that twists and turns as viewers get deeper into the mind of the temptress, Lisa. There are excellent performances by Idris Alba as Derek and Ali Larter as Lisa. The emotion is carried by their acting ability. Beyonce as Sharon struggles somewhat in her role, however.
Obsessed underscores the importance of marriage and fidelity in marriage. Derek, though perhaps unwise at times, is committed to his wife and struggles to fend off the advances by Lisa. This is a not-so-common message to come out of Hollywood.



However this is just a movie, but how many times does this happen in real life/your life? More then people like to admit, the illness that "Lisa" has is often taken to lightly and the warning signs are overlooked. A situation like this can be made into a worst one by letting it continue and all to soon it will end in death. There is nothing flattering about an obsession.

She's told millions of women not to succumb to societal pressure to be thin, but Oprah Winfrey couldn't help but shed the pounds after Vogue editor Anna Wintour told her to get skinny for the cover of the magazine.
Even though the shoot was back in 1998, the revelation is sure to come as a surprise to Oprah's army of female fans who have looked up to the famously curvy Queen of Chat as an inspiration when dealing with their own weight.
Wintour revealed in an American TV show that she advised the famous talk show host to drop 20lb in order to grace the cover of the 'fashion bible'.

'It was a very gentle suggestion,' said Wintour, laughing. 'I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trouper!'

Thats my question... "So after taking a wonderful photo that outlines you in every way, why would you alter it? ie: "photoshop it" don't you want that very picture to depict the true you in your own form? whats the point of taking a picture for people to see You and then changing it, to be Who? I think that is the true example of self pity. Being who you are and loving yourself truly.....means accepting just that...self love is so important in this anti-fat, plastic world and it is a shame that it is not preached enough, especially by two woman that so many hold as role models!

I have a love affair with most Burt's Bees products and Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner is one of them. I first came across this little astringent gem in my Burt's Bees sample kit and went through it pretty quickly. I still have a large bottle of toner from another manufacturer that I plan on finishing up before I purchase another bottle of the Burt's Bees toner, but once I finish with that I'm going to use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner exclusively.

About Burt's Bees Burt's Bees is a small company that makes natural products and doesn't do animal testing. The company originated in Maine where Burt began selling products based on the honey and wax produced by his hives of bees. He later moved down to North Carolina, expanded, and now Burt's Bees sells a full line of skin care products.

Burt's Bees claims that this toner removes residues from soaps, cleansers and dead skin cells and that it restores the natural pH balance to your skin. The tomato, cucumber and parsley extracts clean and tighten your pores. Burt's Bees sells this product in a very attractive frosted glass bottle. It retails for $10 for 8 ounces. Using the Toner I love the scents of most Burt's Bees products and so I wasn't surprised to be intrigued and pleased by the scent of their Garden Tomato toner. It has a scent unlike any other toner that I have used, at once sweet and still pungent like all other astringents. It doesn't smell like any tomatoes that I know of, but its fragrance is definitely pleasant. Like other toners and facial astringents, this product is alcohol-thin and light.

To use it, simply douse a large cotton ball or cotton pad and run it over your face, taking care to avoid your eye area. How Well It Works When I use this toner the cotton ball picks up dirt and other residue that's left on my face even after I wash. The toner feels mild and it doesn't tingle harshly like some other toners that I have used. I like this, because I don't like feeling that I'm tearing up my skin just to clean it. My skin is left feeling taut and my pores tightened after use. The lingering scent lightens considerably after a few minutes.

I really like using this toner. I have never actually liked a toner product so much that I've switched to using just one brand or kind, but I will be switching to this Burt's Bees Garden Tomato toner as soon as I run through my current batch of toner. I like this toner because it doesn't irritate my skin, it gets the job done, it comes in a beautiful frosted glass jar and it smells wonderful. The Garden State may be extra lush this summer.
New Jersey officials have proposed a ban on "Brazilian" bikini waxes, claiming the extreme grooming risky as well as risqué.

Two women were recently hospitalized for infections stemming from no-follicle-left-behind procedure, and one of them has filed a lawsuit, according to Jeff Lamm, a spokesman for New Jersey's Division of Consumer Affairs, which oversees the cosmetology board.
But New Jersey spa owners say officials have no business legislating what women do with their Pine Barrens."Our customers have never had any problems - all this is going to do is send our customers across the river to New York," said Kathleen Ho, owner of the Spa at Port Liberte in Jersey City.
Brazilians account for 85 percent of all bikini waxes, said Rita Gitelman, owner of La Femme in Hoboken."We've never had a single complaint," she said. "Our clients are extremely upset."
Technically, genital waxing has never been allowed only the face, neck, abdomen, legs and arms are permitted but because bare-it-all "Brazilians" weren't specifically banned, state regulators haven't enforced the law.

Officials with the National Cosmetology Association and National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology said they were unaware of another state that has banned genital waxing.

I hate to get involved with political things, However this one is hurting me .This (my body/my look) does not pull its self together...I need manicures, pedicures, hair salons and yes Helga the hot waxer @ my spa. its not fun to be down there every 3-6 days grooming the little errant hairs that creep back as soon as you turn your head, and long gone are the days where I'm shaving in the shower every morning...yuck ans who has the time . I'm a married woman! there is no time to be sore or for razor bumps, not for me not in 2009. surgery generally involves an incision in the top or side of the big toe joint and the removal or realignment of soft tissue and bone to relieve pain and restore normal alignment to the joint. If the joint is severely deformed, it may be stabilized with tiny wires, stitches, screws, or plates. There are no guarantees that a bunion surgery will fully relieve your pain.
A regional anesthetic that affects only the foot is commonly used for bunion surgery. A sedative may also be used during the procedure.
The procedure usually takes an hour or more, depending on the type of surgery.
Bunion repairs are usually done on an outpatient basis.
There are over 100 surgeries for bunions. Research does not indicate which type of surgery is best-surgery needs to be specific to your condition. More than one procedure may be done at the same time.
The general types of bunion surgery are:
Removal of part of the metatarsal head (the part of the foot that is bulging out). This procedure is called exostectomy or bunionectomy.
Realignment of the soft tissues (ligaments) around the big toe joint.
Removal of a small wedge of bone from the foot (metatarsal osteotomy) or from the toe (phalangeal osteotomy).
Removal of bone from the end of the first metatarsal bone, which joins with the base of the big toe (metatarsophalangeal joint). At the metatarsophalangeal joint, both the big toe and metatarsal bones are reshaped (resection arthroplasty).
Fusion (arthrodesis) of the big toe joint.
Fusion of the joint where the metatarsal bone joins the mid-foot (Lapidus procedure).
Implant insertion of all or part of an artificial joint.
What To Expect After Surgery
The usual recovery period after bunion surgery is 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on the amount of soft tissue and bone affected. Complete healing may take as long as 1 year.
When you are showering or bathing, the foot must be kept covered to keep the stitches dry.
Stitches are removed after 7 to 21 days.
Pins that stick out of the foot are usually removed in 3 to 4 weeks, but in some cases are left in place for up to 6 weeks.
Walking casts, splints, special shoes, or wooden shoes are sometimes used. Regular shoes can sometimes be worn in about 4 to 5 weeks, but most procedures require wearing special shoes up to 8 to 12 weeks after surgery. Many activities can be resumed in about 6 to 8 weeks.
After some procedures, no weight can be put on the foot for 6 to 8 weeks. Then there are a few more weeks of partial weight-bearing with the foot in a special shoe or boot to keep the bones and soft tissues steady as they heal.

Today is World Aids day, after the passing of so many people it was rendered a day of awareness.
So today I won' t say to much of anything, and let these facts and statistics bear as information for you all to go out and get tested and make sure anyone you love and care about does the same. In all of the people in my close surroundings that this disease has already taken, I wear red and for people (like my sister) that's battling this horrible disease, I wear white for hope. That not only that a cure one day will be made, but that the cure is not made in Vain.

HIV and AIDS are life threatening conditions. There is no cure yet for HIV/AIDS. The transmission of HIV occurs through three well documented means:
1) having sex (anal, vaginal, or oral) with someone infected with HIV
2) sharing needles and syringes with someone infected with HIV
3) being exposed (fetus or infant) to HIV before or during birth or through breast feeding.

HIV transmission can be prevented through avoiding behaviors that expose someone to the means of transmission and by taking preventive measures if identified risk behaviors occur.
To protect yourself, do not inject illicit drugs and remember these ABCs:
A=Abstinence
B=Be Faithful
C=Condoms
HIV is not transmitted through day-to-day activities such as shaking hands, hugging, or a casual kiss. You cannot become infected from a toilet seat, drinking fountain, doorknob, dishes, drinking glasses, food, or pets. You also cannot get HIV from mosquitoes.

I love this set! It includes all of the things us women desire for the perfect pedicure. I take mine with me to the nail salon every time I go. I fell head over heels (literaly) with their hair to feet products through my cousin Julina , she is truly a fan and once I got a "oh Nika try this(the sage and shea foot butter) it was a wrap. The next morning, I asked my honey to "give up the credit card" and I was on a mission, needless to say mission accomplished!
